Our Location
The London School in Bishkek is located on Sovietskaya street, one of Bishkek's main avenues. More than a third of all the minibuses in town pass our school on the way to the center of town - 12 minutes by bus, 25 minutes by foot. There is a large sports complex and a few parks nearby, as well as plenty of restaurants and shopping points.
Local favorite establishments include:
- The Turkish-run 'Vefa Center,' one of Bishkek's largest shopping centers, which contains a food court, a supermarket, a cinema and a variety of stores. Just half a block away.
- Local eateries: Nooruz, a popular Azerbaidjan-owned restaurant, which offers delicious asian food. Dolce Vita, Bishkek's finest pizzas at reasonable prices (under $4). Toggi's Bar, previously known as Fatboy's, a British-run expat hangout specializing in breakfasts and the best coffee around. And of course, a host of Kyrgyz and Russian joints, including the infamous Black Camel.
- Apart from the local bazaar a few minutes walking distance away, the larger Orto-Sai bazaar is just a 10 minute ride away by local transportation. Farther away by minibus, the famous Osh bazaar and Dordoi markets are key nodes on the Chinese, Turkish and Iranian trading routes.
